I have been having respiratory problems for two months. I am scheduled for major surgery,will this interfere?
I recently hospitalized tentative diagnosis COPD. smoke he surgery worried results PFT tk week. afraid respiratory diagnosis cancel surgery. suggestions? Ts me. Thanks advance.

Dear Deborah H,
Although you are due to undergo Major Back Sugery, the responsibility for your breathing will rest with your Anaesthetist and you can be quite assured that your Anaesthetist will make sure that your breathing is stable and running normal before your operation commences.
There is nothing for you to worry about, so relax.
