How can I tell if my cockatiel is having respiratory problems or is sick/has a cold?

My birds whistles acts normal night cover up, hear tm breathe wheezing, tt tm jt hissing b/c fond covered cold atmosphere maybe temperature getting them.

    My bird hisses when he is in a bad mood but only for a few seconds. If it is lasting longer than that it may be a problem. If breathing sounds labored take them to a vet ASAP. In the wild birds pretend they are not sick so the flock does not leave them behind. Even if it seems they are getting better they may be using any energy they have gained from sleeping to seem active in order to stay with you, the flock. Monitor your birds, and if they keep both feet on the floor when sleeping (instead of tucking one underneath the body)then they are likely to be sick.
