The long awaited release of the Invacare XPO2 portable oxygen concentrator has been set for May 15, 2008. Invacare will begin taking orders from dealers on May 1. The supply will be limited for a while after the initial release. If you have been waiting for to purchase an XPO2 it would be advisable to get an order in soon.

Tips for Using a Home Pulse Oximeter

Pulse Oximeters measure the percentage of arterial oxyhemoglobin (hemoglobin saturated with oxygen) and changes in blood volume in the skin, producing a photoplethysmograph. Measurements are taken from a probe that attaches to a finger. Other probes are available to take readings from more central locations but are reserved to institutional use for the most part.

Invacare XPO2: Portable Oxygen Concentrator

The first release date for the 6 lb Invacare XPO2 was early autumn 2007. The release was then pushed back to January 2008. The FDA then wanted some changes made followed by more trials and the release was moved again until June 2008. Now Invacare is expecting to release the XPO2 in March 2008.
